Guy Laramée’s multidisciplinary practice presents audiences with moments of wonder that transcend the everyday. His enchanting sculptures, carved from antique books, suggest the unveiling of tiny hidden worlds. The artist meticulously sculpts painted scenes of mountains, lakes, and architecture from the pages of encyclopedias and other tomes. In his oil paintings, Laramée depicts mysterious landscapes shrouded in fog and otherworldly light. He is also an accomplished composer, stage designer, and author. Laramée received BFA and MA degrees from Concordia University in Montreal and an MA from the University of Quebec. His work is widely exhibited and held in collections such as the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec and the Museum of Arts and Design.
