The Fissiparity of a Life Lived Through Passwords
Based on the Judiac mythological concept of a golem, a being brought into existence from the earth, "a highly mutable metaphor with seemingly limitless symbolism. It can be victim or villain, Jew or non-Jew, man or woman—or sometimes both. Over the centuries it has been used to connote war, community, isolation, hope and despair". The golem was animated with the Hebrew word 'emet' (truth) across its forehead. In this instance the first letter had been erased, creating the word 'met' (death), and as such the image is of its death.
