St Elizabeth of Hungary has this statue in Budapest. She was known for giving extensively to the poor, often purloining bread from the palace to take to the needy. Once intercepted by a soldier and made to open her bundle, the bread had miraculously transformed to roses. Bread is Cockney Rhyming slang for money.
