"We are all tied to and constrained by things we can never change. Our past is a thing embedded and cinched to who we are and is part of the fabric of what we will always be. As much as I would sometimes like to untie myself from this personal bondage, I find that the prospect of having no past and no history a worthless and empty thing to even contemplate. I suspect we need our past in all its pain and difficulty, even if it is to overcome it. Perhaps all the good and bad things that have happened to us is only a remembered energy for us to mold and create what will happen tomorrow. In this way, being bound to the past is the one thing that can give us the freedom to manifest a better future."
