The Wages of Decadence: Top 5 Exhibition in London
Tabish Khan selects ‘The Wages of Decadence’ as one of the Top 5 Exhibitions to See in London in September for FAD Magazine:
This excellent group exhibition brings together the biblical post-apocalyptic paintings of Elena Unger with the more ecological yet equally haunting work of Juliette Losq. Alongside them are the glittery, striking sculptures by Carolein Smit featuring Achilles’s leg and a waiting skeleton, paired with the smaller sculptures by Edgar Ward that reference the underworld and art history. All four artists are excellent in their own right and work well together here.
London Art Roundup also gave a glowing review:
One of this gallery’s strengths is pairing, and the latest group show is a bit like a 3-course, 3-star Michelin meal served with a fine wine. Four artists and a selection of work you’d swear had been planned together since the beginning.
